Suzanne first burst onto our screens as one of the successful winners of 'Popstars' and went on to be a part of the band 'Hear'Say'. In 2001 she was literally thrown into the limelight after competing against 4,000 hopefuls all battling it out for the dream to be in a 'pop' band! "At the time I was a jobbing actress and cabaret singer, I'd appeared in a few TV dramas and almost got the role of Maria in Coronation Street. Getting into 'Hear'Say' was a dream come true." But it wasn't to last and the band broke up in October 2002. The "bump to the ground when it all falls apart" hasn't stopped successful Suzanne who describes herself as being "an all rounder who loves to keep herself busy." Maybe it's her determination and dedication that keeps her going, or maybe it's just an innate dream: "My mum says at the age of three she knew I was going to be a performer, I was always singing and dancing and putting on little shows around the house and garden, I was easily bored so I liked to keep myself occupied!" When she was just six-years old, Suzanne starred in 'Annie'.

This propelled her into the realms of wanting to act and sing for a career: "I loved every minute of it, once you've got up there, done your best and the audience seem to like it, it's very addictive!" It's not surprising that after 'Hear'Say' split Suzanne has enjoyed taking on a variety of different roles including playing the lead in 'Snow White' and then Janet in 'The Rocky Horror Show' national tour. Last year she bravely decided to undertake the challenge to compete alongside other celebrities in the popular ITV show 'Dancing on Ice', which despite injury, she went on to win. "It was the most intense experience of my life, apart from giving birth to Corey, although at times it was more painful than childbirth! I couldn't have done it without Matt (her skating partner), he guided me so well and we'll always be friends." When she is not on stage or on our screens, the busy 'Celebrity Mum of the Year' is devoted and dedicated to her three-year old son Corey: "It's a struggle but I have an amazing network of family and friends around me and my boyfriend JK (Virgin Radio DJ and Hider in the House presenter Jason King) is fantastic with him, they are a little team and sometimes even gang up on me - boys!" With a Mum and Dad (Darren Day) in the limelight, Corey may be destined for a career in acting but Suzanne thinks that he's "more likely be a racing driver if his obsession with toy cars is anything to go by."

Her career may be demanding but it's certainly fulf illing as Suzanne is currently on stage playing her dream role, as the ambitious Roxie Hart in the hit musical 'Chicago'. "I always wanted to play this role, I wanted it from the moment I saw it with Ruthie Henshaw, it's a one off role and I wouldn't have missed it for the world." Aside from the acting, singing and skating, pretty Suzanne is the new face and body of top lingerie firm Ultimo's new brand; 'Michelle for George', and is honoured to be this years special guest during the 50th anniversary of Sandown Park's 'The Variety Club Raceday'. "I am so excited to be involved in such an amazing day, its going to be really special, everyone must buy their tickets now and make sure they don't miss out, you get to have a fantastic time and at the same time help others less fortunate than you. It doesn't get much better than that." A fabulous event for children with bouncy castles, face painters plus the Mr. Men and Peppa Pig; "Corey is looking forward to it almost as much as me." Kind and energetic, Suzanne doesn't seem to stop. "I'm also developing my own perfume range and interactive fun DVD for children; I do like to keep busy!" But for now I get the distinct impression that "everything is perfect."
